I think it is possible that God gave men the responsibility to lead in order to sort of correct this problem. A man who truly takes his responsibility as a spiritual leader seriously just can't help but be more in touch with his "nurturing" side than most men today. As a result, he not only is a better husband and a better father, he is actually a better and happier human being.
As someone else said, it is a good thing when women do step up to the plate, and perhaps Paul should have allowed for this, but I would rather see men lead, because I believe they need the experience.

I tend to differ. I don't think they make better leaders than men, nor do I think men make better leaders than women. There are stupid people from each sex, and intelligent ones as well. You could get some idiot female leader, whereas a great guy and vice versa. It all rests in the person's values, convictions and perception. You really can't judge a book by it's cover (or sex).

The characteristics of a woman that would seek and achieve political leadership are the same as those of a male political leaders. The different is that many people see these characteristics as admirable in a man but not in a woman. Women leaders suffer from this perception so the must be exceptionally skilled and capable to succeed.

Women lack decisiveness. They may be good negotiators, but not leaders. They are more prone to considering all the angles and never making a final leap. Males make decisions. Just look at the paucity of women leaders. The ones there are have strong masculine mental character.
