I wasn't planning on voting for him in the first place…
I used to think that he was intelligent, just putting his efforts in the wrong direction, but he's just proven himself to be very uneducated and has also proved that Harvard is not the end all and be all of education!
I wonder if he would have graduated had Harvard not employed the usage of affirmative action to his benefit!

Now that the Republicans are making it clear that bigots are not welcome in their party, I think this will result in more minorities being more openminded about which candidate they support.

If the Republican party does not survive, I hope the Libertarians take their place!

In a Republic one has to earn the right to vote. Like own 25 acres of land as per the US constitution.

Allowing suffrage for all always ends in a bankrupt dictatorship.

Cast a vote for who you feel is right. Don't do it because some TV station tells you that one is better for America than the other. Personally, I vote for someone who can change America I don't go with the popular vote, unless it is right. The political climate should not effect your vote at all.

The problem with that is you get rule by the masses. People in states like California and New York with large populations will have more say then people in much smaller states. Those people do not understand the needs that we have in different parts of the country. It has already been diluted by the fact that the US Senate is now elected directly. The Senate was originally made to be the states' representatives in Washington. Now each state technically has no say. The Founding Fathers thought long and hard about the way they were going to set up our government. They wanted to maintain the sovereignty of the individual States while giving enough authority to the federal government to decide things such as national defense and foreign relations and trade. They intended the federal government to work for the States and the people. Not the other way around. They wanted most of the domestic policies to be left to the States. That way if the people of a State wanted to do something such as government run healthcare they could do so without infringing on the states that did not want that. And as far as something "sparking so much emotion" if we don't like what the government does, we have the opportunity to vote those representatives out of office and elect people that represent the way we feel. Not to mention that the process you are proposing will only make us more vulnerable to "special interests" because they would then try to convince voters directly to support their interests. The American people as a whole do not follow politics enough to make truly educated decisions on things like this. With matters of war the government has information that we the people do not. There is a reason that the President gets a national security briefing every day. If we knew everything that he knew dealing with national security we would see things through a much different light. I have served and have had but a small taste of that. I know things that go on that the media does not report on. It's not that it's classified or anything but it does not suit the agenda of the media. We cannot make the best decisions without all the information.

For many years now Americans have been conned into believing we have a real choice @ election time.
The truth is the candidate that spends the most money on advertising their own virtues becomes a front runner and blitzes the T.V. screen with appearances.

Where does this advertising money come from?

Well, there is an organization, started in 1921 by the international banking firm of J. P. Morgan called the CFR. It has about 4,700 members, and pretends to have Americas best interests at heart, which is far, far from the truth, since they have a disregard for the U.S. Constitution.

The CFR finances both Republicans & Democrats who basically have a similar political agenda.

However, Americans currently have a non-owned, non-bought & paid for candidate, called Ron Paul entered in the Presidential race, who I think has a real chance of up-setting the OLDE Apple cart. {politics as usual}

Ron Paul is counting on the grassroots Patriotic majority of non-CFR backed Americans, who believe in the Constitution enough to 'regain' the political high road to Liberty & Justice for All, as guaranteed in the Constitution.

A Vote For Him is a Vote For Thomas Jefferson's brand of politics!
